Derrick Jones Expected to Play Wednesday
6 years agoMiami Heat forward Derrick Jones (illness) was able to practice on Tuesday and is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. He missed Monday's game due to an illness, but appears ready to return for Wednesday. He could see more minutes with Rodney McGruder (knee) listed as questionable for this contest.

Derrick Jones Jr. To Sit Out A Second Consecutive Game
2 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. (groin) will sit out a second consecutive game on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns. He is battling a right groin strain, and given the nature of the injury, there is a strong possibility that Jones Jr. will also not be ready to return on Wednesday when the Clippers face the Detroit Pistons. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Amir Coffey are set to receive more work on Tuesday, especially with Norman Powell (hamstring) also sidelined. Bogdanovic is the more attractive fantasy piece of the two. Since moving to L.A., he has averaged 10.6 points and 3.1 assists in 24.9 minutes.

Derrick Jones Jr. Moving Into Starting Five
2 months agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. will move into the starting five ahead of Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. Head coach Ty Lue has decided to tweak his starting unit and move Jones into the starting unit on Wednesday. Kris Dunn will head to the bench after posting a dud during his 25 minutes of action on Monday. Jones has been decent this season, but he isn't someone worth starting in most fantasy formats right now. So far, Jones is averaging 9.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 24 minutes per game this season.

Derrick Jones Jr. "Fine" Despite Monday's Early Exit
2 months agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. (hand) is not expected to miss time despite making an early exit against Miami on Monday. Jones Jr. hurt his hand and left the contest with 10:20 to go in the final quarter. However, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue told reporters postgame that Jones Jr. was "fine" and available to return to the game. The former dunk champion finished Monday's game with nine points in 16 minutes. Jones Jr.'s fantasy stock recently took a hit with Kawhi Leonard's season debut. He has come off the bench in all three games that Leonard has played. But we should see Jones Jr. back among the starters as soon as Wednesday as the Clippers head into a back-to-back set, and Leonard, who remains on a minutes restriction, will likely get one night off.

Derrick Jones Jr. Back In Action Thursday
3 months agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. (hamstring) will return from a two-game absence on Thursday versus Dallas. The 27-year-old suffered a right hamstring strain on Dec. 8 but has made a quick recovery. Jones Jr. has been a regular starter for the Clippers all year, averaging 10.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 25.0 minutes. However, the high-flying forward will have a limited role against his former team, so managers won't get full value out of Jones Jr. on Thursday.
