Derrick Henry To Be Big Part Of Offense In 2019
6 years agoTennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith made it clear that running back Derrick Henry is expected to have a big role in the 2019 offense in the final year of his rookie deal. Henry, who is 6-foot-3, 247 pounds, had 1,059 yards on the ground in 2018, with more than half of his yards coming in the final four weeks when the Titans leaned on him. "Derrick will be a big part of the offense," Smith said. "He has a rare skill set. Derrick's a home-run hitter. We are taking another step hopefully with him. What he did over the last five weeks will open up a lot of things." Henry did very little for two-thirds of the season, but he broke out and was one of the league's best running backs down the stretch, carrying many teams to a fantasy title. He's more of a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex with Dion Lewis also in the backfield, but Henry's stock is on the rise after his strong finish.
