Derek Holland Joining The Red Sox
3 years agoFree-agent left-hander Derek Holland announced on Twitter that he will be joining the Boston Red Sox this year. Holland made 39 appearances (one start) for the Detroit Tigers in 2021 and had a 5.07 ERA and 1.57 WHIP while striking out 51 and walking 20 in 49 2/3 innings. He's made just 14 starts over the last three seasons for the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and Tigers, and he hasn't been very effective with a 5.98 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 174 2/3 total innings in that span in 102 total outings. The 35-year-old hasn't been on the fantasy radar for what seems like ages since the beginning of his career with the Texas Rangers. Holland will provide left-handed relief depth in Boston.
