Derek Hill Homers In Second Straight Game
3 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Derek Hill had a strong day at the plate in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics. He went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run. It was his second consecutive game with a home run and he now has three home runs over 37 games on the year. Hill has been making most of his starts in center field and if he stays hot, he could start wrestling more playing time away from fellow center field Akil Baddoo going forward. Baddoo slashed just .200/.200/.280 in August. The right-handed Hill is the superior bat against lefties, but he has a decent .241/.343/.345 slash line and two home runs against righties as well.
