Deon Yelder Brought Up From Practice Squad
3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers elevated tight end Deon Yelder from the practice squad to the active roster for Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bucs already have Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, but Yelder will provide some more depth at the position with Rob Gronkowski (lung, ribs) set to miss his third straight game. Yelder has been active for three games this season, but he hasn't actually played since seeing 14 special teams snaps in the Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Rams. In 14 games (one start) with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020, Yelder had seven receptions on 11 targets for 36 yards. In two games without Gronk, Brate hasn't taken advantage of the increased playing time, catching just three of seven targets for 41 yards.
