Denny McCarthy Hopes For A Better Weekend At RSM
2 years agoDenny McCarthy could not get the putter or much of anything going for the weekend at The Houston Open. The American golfer tailed off after a very good opening round 67 on Thursday. The 75 on Sunday was just a punctuation mark to a bad three days. By Sunday, the driver was off, the iron play was erratic, and even the putting went in the tank. All those missed putts caused McCarthy's metric to drop to 84th on tour at just 0.15 strokes gained. Seaside is an easier Par-70 that might help McCarthy since it is a short 7,005 yards. If the American makes a few more putts, he could be in position for the weekend.
