1 year agoFor all the talk of quicker practices, lap times, and qualifying, Denny Hamlin wants to improve on his ninth-place results at Bristol. Consecutive top tens would make most any other driver happy but not the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. However, Hamlin has some team and owner politics on the horizon. Martin Truex Jr. is 13th in the playoff chase and Bubba Wallace is 14th. The No. 11's propensity to win will be tested by loyalties of all things Saturday. Hamlin has won the race before in 2019 and did lead 65 laps in 2021. Bristol will be interesting. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
