Denny Hamlin Tries To Capture First Championship At Phoenix
4 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Denny Hamlin will roll off from the fourth position in Sunday's Season Finale 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Hamlin hung on at Martinsville last week to be one of the final four drivers for the title race. In 30 starts at the one-mile track, Hamlin has two wins, 13 top-fives, and 17 top-10 finishes. Hamlin's second win was in the 2019 fall race, where he led 143 laps and got him into the 2019 title race. Hamlin's DFS salary around the same as the other three title contenders, but he will start the lowest of the four. Outside of Kevin Harvick and the No. 4 team, Hamlin and his No. 11 team has been the class of the field in 2020. The opportunity for Hamlin to win his first championship is there, but it is all a matter if he can finally capitalize on his chance. Look for Hamlin to have a strong run and be a fine lineup selection.
