Denny Hamlin Should Still Be Strong at Las Vegas
1 year agoDenny Hamlin didn't have the strongest day on Saturday during practice and qualifying at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In the weekend's lone practice session, Hamlin ranked 30th-fastest out of 36 drivers, and in qualifying he failed to make the final round. He will start from 15th for this weekend's South Point 400. You shouldn't count out Hamlin based on one bad day, though, The No. 11 Toyota has consistently been one of the fastest cars on the intermediate tracks this season, and in the first Las Vegas race this season, Hamlin finished 5th and 8th in the two Stages before walking away with an 11th-place finish at the end.
