2 years agoDenny Hamlin is the second Joe Gibbs Racing team member to score his first top-five finish of the season. Hamlin joined teammate Martin Truex Jr. in the top five for the first time in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. Before Sunday, neither driver had been able to crack the top five. Hamlin qualified 11th for the NOCO 400 and was able to secure stage points at the end of each stage. He finished eighth at the end of Stage 1 and moved up to third at the end of Stage 2. Hamlin found it difficult to pass the leaders and ended his day in fourth. On the day, Hamlin managed 30 fastest laps and was up front leading the race for 36 laps.--Eric DeWilde
