Denny Hamlin Crashes Out Of A Top-Five Finish
2 years agoGetting the cars reacquainted on the race track is not new for Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain. However, a late crash as the United Rentals 500 race went into overtime cost both drivers a chance at a top-five finish. On the white-flag lap of overtime, the two drivers were next to each other near the wall and Hamlin ran wide into turn one while Chastain was on his outside and ran into the wall. This triggered a bit of retaliation from both drivers on the closing lap, which took both of them from a strong finish to the mid-20s. After a strong day behind the wheel, Hamlin finished this race in 23rd place. Just when you thought the feud was coming to an end, let's just say you'll need to grab your popcorn and enjoy the ride.
