Dennis Smith Jr. To Miss "At Least A Week"
1 year agoAccording to Brooklyn Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn, guard Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) will be sidelined for "at least a week." The 2017 No. 9 overall pick, who injured his left ankle in preseason action on Thursday night, signed with Brooklyn over the summer after most recently suiting up for the Hornets in 2022-23. He had his best season in years with in Charlotte, averaging 8.8 points, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals in 54 games. Nevertheless, Smith is expected to see routine playing time throughout the 2023-24 campaign. While he probably won't be a consistent fantasy producer, he could emerge as a streaming option if he enters the starting lineup.
