1 year agoBrooklyn Nets guard Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) didn't practice on Saturday. The 2017 No. 9 overall pick landed in Brooklyn this past offseason after bouncing around the league throughout his career. However, he had his best season in years in 2022-23 while with the Charlotte Hornets and is anticipated to have a routine role off the bench for Brooklyn. At any rate, head coach Jacque Vaughn indicated Smith would be re-evaluated in the next few days, although it appears he could miss Wednesday's opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
