With the New York Yankees trailing 3-1 in the ninth inning of Thursday afternoon’s series finale against the Minnesota Twins, manager Aaron Boone summoned Dellin Betances from the bullpen. The 30-year-old former All-Star has been quite the enigma as of late, with the results of his performances being completely unpredictable. Thursday afternoon, however, he displayed his effective side, eventually earning the victory as his offense walked off in the bottom of the frame. Betances struck out the side in his lone inning of work, setting the stage for the win.
