Dellin Betances Blows Save In Defeat
6 years agoThe New York Yankees seemed headed to another slugfest-style victory Thursday night in the series opener against the Detroit Tigers. They were leading 7-5 heading into the ninth when Dellin Betances was summoned to close it out. The result would be Betances' worst outing in quite some time, as he surrendered two home runs and three runs in total, taking the loss. Entering the game, the 30-year-old had surrendered three runs in his last 39 appearances, matching that total in one inning. It was Betances' fourth defeat of the season against four victories.
