Delino DeShields Optioned To Triple-A
6 years agoTexas Rangers center fielder Delino DeShields has been optioned to Triple-A. DeShields has struggled to hit this season, with a .204 batting average in 322 plate appearances. However, this move has come as somewhat of a shock. Carlos Tocci will likely take over as the main center fielder initially, although he is hitting just .105 this season. DeShields main value was always going to come from his legs, and the outfielder has 18 stolen bases so far this season. With no clear indication of how long DeShields will be in the minors, it is very difficult for fantasy owners to keep holding onto him. However, Tocci's performance at the plate also means he is not a usable fantasy option in the majority of leagues.
