Delino DeShields Has Mixed Results In Two-Hole
Delino DeShields was slotted in the two-hole for manager Chris Woodward on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles. He finished 2-for-5 with a run scored, but he also had three strikeouts. DeShields also had a stolen base, but he was caught stealing, too. He showed some good signs, as his average slowly inched up to .194, but he also showed some of the things which had him optioned to Triple-A Nashville earlier in the season. He and Danny Santana will be jostling for playing time with Joey Gallo on the shelf. DeShields has nice speed potential, but his average has been brutal.

Delino DeShields To Become A Free Agent
Delino DeShields was sent on a minor league assignment by the Cincinnati Reds. However, he refused the assignment and elected to become a free agent instead. The 29-year-old split the 2021 season between three organizations. He began the year with the Texas Rangers, then spent time with the Boston Red Sox before joining the Reds. He appeared in 25 games for the Reds and slashed .255/.375/.426 with one home run, two stolen bases, six RBI and four runs.
