Delanie Walker Hopes To Be Ready By OTAs
6 years agoTennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker (ankle), who suffered a broken ankle all the way back in Week 1, is hoping to be able to take part in organized team activities this spring. However, he hasn't resumed running but hopes that will happen in the coming weeks. “My goal is to be ready for OTAs, but I am not sure what they are going to have me do. I don’t think they want to rush this, knowing what time of injury I had. I want to be able to run and catch balls and run routes (in OTAs), but we’ll see what happens," Walker said. He's heading into his age-35 season, so he won't be a lock to recover smoothly next summer. But Walker led the team with 74 catches for 807 yards and three touchdowns in 2017 and has been one of the more reliable tight ends in his time with the Titans. He'll be more of a low-end TE1 come next fall, and a lot will depend on how the rest of his recovery goes this offseason.
