Deivi Garcia Moving To Bullpen
5 years agoThe New York Yankees are moving their top prospect, starting pitcher Deivi Garcia, to the bullpen for the rest of the year. The 20-year-old is currently pitching with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The move is a way to limit the young hurler's innings, and it'll be a way for the Yankees to see if they'd like to use the hard thrower in September in relief. He's already at a career-high 103 2/3 innings this year and has a 4.08 ERA across three minor league levels. Garcia is striking out 13.4 betters per nine innings and walking 4.4. He has a 5.01 ERA with 34 K's and 17 walks in 32 1/3 innings for Scranton. The youngster has impressive strikeout stuff, but he won't be much of a fantasy option in relief, especially if he can't limit his free passes.
