Deivi Garcia Charged With Second Loss, Optioned To Triple-A
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Deivi Garcia was saddled with his second loss of the season on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers. Garcia pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing four earned runs on five hits with one walk and three strikeouts. The 22-year-old earned a solid 30 percent CSW, called strikes plus whiffs, with his changeup registering as one of his better offerings of the night. Still, the results just haven't been there so far in two major league starts this season, as Garcia has pitched to a 6.48 ERA. The Yankees optioned the young starter to their Triple-A affiliate for more repetitions. It wouldn't be surprising to see Garcia back in the majors at some point this season, given how highly the Yankees think of him.
