Defenses To Key More On Kyle Pitts?
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons rookie tight end Kyle Pitts had just two catches on six targets for 13 yards in the Week 8 loss to the Carolina Panthers with wide receiver Calvin Ridley missing another game due to personal issues. Pitts said that his role didn't change in the offense, but the Panthers seemed to focus on him more with Ridley out. Because he's the best remaining pass-catcher with Ridley out indefinitely, it's possible that the first-rounder will continue to see that level of attention from opposing defenses. Atlanta didn't target Russell Gage, the typical No. 1 wideout with Ridley out, one time. Tajae Sharpe, who had five catches on six targets for 58 yards, seemed to be the primary beneficiary with Ridley out. But fantasy managers should not be counting on Sharpe on a weekly basis moving forward.
