Deandre Ayton Delivers Strong Game Against Rockets
4 years agoPhoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton had one of his best games of the year in Wednesday night's 109-103 win over the Houston Rockets. Ayton hit 11-of-15 shots from the field and went 4-for-4 from the line while dropping a season-high 26 points. He also came away with season-highs in rebounds (17) and blocks (5). It's been a bit of a disappointing start to the year for Ayton, who is averaging just 13.9 points per game through 13 games after averaging 18.2 points per game last year. On the bright side, he's shooting 57.8% from the field this year, which is up about 3% from last year. Hopefully Wednesday's game will help him turn a corner. He'll look to stay hot in his next game on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. Ayton went for 22 and 11 in his last game against the Nuggets on New Year's Day.
