De'Aaron Fox May Undergo Surgery In The Coming Weeks
4 mins agoSan Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox (finger) may undergo surgery within the next few weeks. The former Sacramento King has been battling a left pinkie injury. Although surgery has always been on the radar, it may come sooner than expected, with Fox planning to visit a specialist in Los Angeles on March 17 when the Spurs visit the Lakers. If a procedure is recommended, it may occur that same day. The Spurs already are without Victor Wembanyama (illness) for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, and with the team unlikely to secure a Play-In spot, Fox may opt for surgery now and be ready to go come the start of next season. The 27-year-old hasn't been as productive since being traded from Sacramento, averaging 19.1 points, nearly six points fewer than he had with the Kings. But if Fox gets to spend time with his San Antonio teammates this summer, he should bounce back. With that in mind, if Fox sits out the remainder of the year, Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and Stephon Castle will presumably each see a bump in scoring opportunities.
