Daz Cameron Optioned To Triple-A On Saturday
3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers optioned outfielder Daz Cameron to Triple-A on Saturday. The move was made to clear a roster spot for starting pitcher Matthew Boyd (elbow), who will be activated from the injured list to start Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Cameron was sidelined for over a month due to a sprained toe as well as a left ankle injury. He returned about 10 days ago and had been struggling at the plate, going just 2-for-21 over six games. The 24-year-old has flashed some intriguing versatility with three home runs and four stolen bases over 25 games in the majors this year. He could be a strong source of stolen bases for fantasy managers at some point in the coming years if he can hold down a regular or semi-regular role with the Tigers.
