Davis Riley Overvalued At Valspar Championship
2 years agoThe 2022 Valspar Championship was the arrival moment for Davis Riley on the PGA Tour. Although losing to Sam Burns in a playoff, Riley recorded his best, and only runner-up finish on the PGA Tour so far in his career. However, as we look back to the present, Riley's DFS price is near the top of the lobby this week. Coming into Valspar, Riley has missed four of his last six cuts, and only has four rounds under 70 in his last 15 rounds on tour. What may be the contributing factors to Riley's struggles in 2023 that he didn't have in 2022 is his game off the tee and on the greens. Riley finished last season inside the top-80 on tour in both strokes gained off the tee and strokes gained putting. So far this season, Riley sits 128th in strokes gained off the tee, and 143rd in strokes gained putting. Better options can be found this week.
