Davis Martin Dominates Red Sox In Chicago
24 seconds agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Davis Martin bounced back from a rough outing in his last start against the Tigers and held the Red Sox to just one run in six innings to get his first win of the season. In his Opening Day start, Martin was excellent in a no-decision against the Guardians, allowing just two unearned runs, but he was thumped for seven runs on nine hits in five innings in his second start of the season. On Friday, though, he was sharp again, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out six and issuing just one walk. He got plenty of run support from the White Sox lineup against Sean Newcomb, and the team cruised to an 11-1 victory to snap an eight-game skid. Martin's next start is also scheduled to come at home at the end of this homestand next Thursday afternoon against the visiting Athletics.
