Davion Mitchell Takes His Talents To South Beach
14 mins agoThe Miami Heat acquired Davion Mitchell from the Toronto Raptors on Thursday in exchange for P.J. Tucker, a second-round pick, and cash. Mitchell was a top-10 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Baylor and played his first three seasons in Sacramento. He was traded to the Raptors before this season and averaged 6.3 points, 4.6 assists, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.7 steals in 24.5 minutes per game while starting 22 of his 44 games. With the Raptors getting healthier, Mitchell's role had been reduced lately. The Heat will likely use Mitchell on the second unit as a defensive specialist. His usage has been low throughout his career, but he has developed into a strong individual defender.
