David Savard Heads To Tampa In Three-Team Trade
4 years agoColumbus Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday in a three-team trade that also included the Detroit Red Wings. Columbus received Tampa's first-round draft pick in 2021 and a third-round pick in 2022, Detroit picked up a fourth-rounder in 2021 from the Lightning, who also added defenseman Brian Lashoff from Detroit in the trade. Savard will bring bags of experience with him and will add veteran presence to the Bolts side. The 30-year-old skated 40 times for the Jackets this season, picking up six points with 48 shots, 95 hits and 89 blocks. Lashoff has been in the AHL all year.
