David Robertson Picks Up Fifth Save
2 years agoNew York Mets right-handed pitcher David Robertson tossed a perfect ninth inning to pick up his fifth save of the season, preserving a 9-8 lead over the Washington Nationals. Robertson picked up two strikeouts and didn't allow a baserunner in his inning of work. The 38-year-old veteran has thrown it back to his prime this season, posting an impeccable 0.79 ERA and 0.71 WHIP while racking up 14 K over 11 ⅓ IP. He continues to split the closer role with Adam Ottavino, who has been good as well, but not quite on Robertson's level. Both should be rostered as they should see a good amount of save opportunities on a good Mets team.
