Calgary Flames goalie David Rittich made his 14th start of the season on Wednesday and picked up a seventh win in a 5-1 result against Buffalo. The 25-year-old rookie out of Czech Republic had 25 saves and missed his first career shutout by just 18 seconds. He helped the Flames end a four-game losing streak, so it seems likely that he'll continue as a starter on Friday against Ottawa. Mike Smith (groin) returned to the ice this week, but his comeback doesn't seem to be imminent, so it looks like Calgary will have to rely on Rittich to get the job done a while longer with a favorable schedule. They face the Islanders and Oilers following a trip to Ottawa.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
