David Peterson With Quality Start On Monday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson went six innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits and three walks in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Rockies on Monday. Peterson struck out three but, despite his quality start, he was tagged with the loss and his record fell to 1-4 on the season. It has been an uneven season for Peterson. He now has four quality starts and an xFIP of 3.43 but owns a 4.91 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and a 49:17 K:BB on the season over 44 innings pitched. He should continue to serve as a viable streaming option in deeper mixed leagues and NL-only formats based on matchups. Peterson will next face the Braves at home on Saturday. This should be a decent matchup for him, given the Braves' struggles against lefties, notwithstanding his last start against them in which he dominated early but failed to get out of the fifth inning.
