David Peterson Ineffective On Monday Against Phillies
4 years agoNew York Mets left-handed pitcher David Peterson was roughed up by the Phillies on Monday in just two innings of work in the Mets' 9-8 loss. Peterson, who returned to the Mets' starting rotation after one relief appearance last week, allowed five earned runs, walked four, and allowed three hits including a home run in his two innings. As a result of the outing, Peterson's ERA ballooned to 4.26 on the season to go with a 1.36 WHIP. It remains to be seen whether Peterson, who endured his worst outing of the season on Monday, will remain in the rotation or be sent back to the bullpen. Should Peterson return to the bullpen, any fantasy value he holds in redraft formats will be extinguished. If, however, Peterson remains in the rotation, his next start would come against the Blue Jays on Sunday, making him a less-than-desirable streaming option for that contest.
