David Peterson Improves To 8-1 On Saturday
3 months agoNew York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson tossed 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball in Saturday's 7-1 victory over the Padres, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out two on the way to earning his eighth win of the season. It was the fifth consecutive start in which the southpaw has allowed two runs or less, which has also been the case in 13 of his 15 starts this season. That has led to an 8-1 record with a sterling 2.85 ERA (4.20 FIP). However, the lefty also has a 1.32 WHIP and just an 8.0% K-BB%, so it hasn't all been great for fantasy purposes. Peterson gets a favorable matchup next time out, which will come against the White Sox in Chicago next Friday.
