David Peterson Back On Track In Loss
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson posted a quality start in the Mets' 2-1 loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday. Peterson went six innings and allowed just two earned runs on four hits and two walks. Peterson also struck out three. This performance was a nice rebound from his most recent start against the Cubs in which he lasted just 3 1/3 innings pitched. Overall in 2021, Peterson has a 5.59 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and a 21:6 K:BB in 19 1/3 IP. Peterson has had an uneven beginning to the 2021 campaign now having put up two QS to go with two mediocre performances. Given this uneven start to the season, fantasy managers should wait to see more consistency from Peterson before deploying him routinely in starting lineups. For now, he makes for a solid streaming option in deeper leagues. Peterson is scheduled to next face the Cardinals on the road on Monday in what should be a similar test to Tuesday's game against Boston.
