David Montgomery's Fumble Proves Costly
2 years agoChicago Bears running back David Montgomery carried the ball 15 times for 53 yards and chipped in three receptions for 22 yards, but a second-half fumble derailed the Bears comeback efforts in their loss to the Cowboys in Week 8. The typically sure-handed Montgomery lost the football as the Bears were trying to come back from a 28-7 deficit, and the Cowboys' Micah Parsons scooped it up and took it to the house for a 36-yard defensive score. Montgomery continues to see double-digit touches in an offense that has produced 200-plus rushing yards in each of their last three games, but he is slowly losing snaps to the explosive Khalil Herbert. Montgomery's fantasy value could dip to RB3 territory heading into Week 9.
