The Minnesota Wild have acquired defenseman David Jiricek in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Wild sent out minor league defenseman Daemon Hunt and multiple draft picks, including their 2025 first-round pick, in the deal while also receiving a fifth-round pick. Jiricek has been in trade rumors for a while, as he's been disgruntled with his role in the Blue Jackets organization. The 21-year-old was picked sixth in the 2022 draft but has barely played for the Blue Jackets. Jiricek has made only six NHL appearances this season, averaging 11:12 of ice time. The Czech blue-liner boasts 11 points (on goal, 10 assists) through 53 career games in the NHL. He gets a fresh start in Minnesota, but it remains to be seen where Jiricek fits in on this Wild team.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
