David Hamilton Not Playing On Tuesday
5 months agoBoston Red Sox infielder David Hamilton (side) is not in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday versus the hosting Toronto Blue Jays. Hamilton left Monday's series opener in Canada early with left-side discomfort and will sit out for at least one game. For now, fantasy managers in deeper leagues should consider him day-to-day. Ceddanne Rafaela is making the start at shortstop and is batting ninth, while Enmanuel Valdez is at the keystone and in the two-hole against Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. With an off day coming on Thursday, there's a chance Hamilton is held out again on Wednesday. Due to injuries to Trevor Story and Vaughn Grissom, Hamilton has gotten a lot of run in the middle infield in Boston and has been a nice surprise for those in deeper fantasy leagues with a .284 average (40-for-141) with a career-high 18 steals in 48 games in his second year in the majors. UPDATE: Hamilton is feeling better and is likely to be back in Wednesday's lineup.
