David Fry Takes A Seat Wednesday
6 months agoCleveland Guardians catcher/outfielder David Fry isn't in the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Kansas City Royals. With Fry on the bench, Bo Naylor is behind the dish and is hitting eighth against Royals right-hander Brady Singer. It's the second time in the last three games that Fry has been on the bench for Cleveland despite hitting an eye-popping .342/.479/.613 with a 1.092 OPS, eight home runs, six doubles, 27 RBI, four stolen bases and 27 runs scored in 144 plate appearances and 42 games. The former seventh-round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018 isn't quite an everyday player for the Guardians and is expected to hit some pretty serious regression, but his production so far in 2024 warrants attention in all fantasy leagues. Naylor has really struggled at the dish this year but is hitting .571 with three RBI in seven career at-bats against Singer.
