3 years agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop David Fletcher (hip) is set to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday. The 27-year-old has been out since April 11 due to a strained left hip. Prior to the injury, he was struggling at the plate. He went just 1-for-13 over his first five games of the year. Andrew Velazquez has been filling in as the team's shortstop with Fletcher out and he's had a rough time at the plate as well, slashing .143/.250/.179 over eight games. Assuming Fletcher has no setbacks, he should be back with the team at some point next week.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
