David Bell Hauls In Two Touchdowns In Week 18
1 year agoCleveland Browns wide receiver David Bell caught all four of his targets for 68 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18. With the Browns resting several key starters, including Amari Cooper, Bell operated as the team's main target in the regular-season finale. His touchdown catches both came in the fourth quarter, going for 31 and 24 yards. Bell will return to a reserve role in the Wild Card round of the playoffs against the Houston Texans next weekend, although his Week 18 performance offers a glimmer of hope for his dynasty value heading into the offseason.

David Bell Ruled Out For Rest Of Week 2
7 months agoCleveland Browns wide receiver David Bell (hip) won't return to Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The wideout had three catches for 27 yards. Unfortunately, he suffered a hip injury on his last catch of the day. With David Njoku (ankle) ruled out ahead of Week 2 and Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) exiting Sunday's contest, the Browns continue to deal with injuries on the offensive side of the ball. Fantasy managers should expect more work for Elijah Moore, Jerry Jeudy, Jerome Ford, and D'Onta Foreman for the rest of the game.

Browns Waive David Bell
7 months agoThe Cleveland Browns have waived wide receiver David Bell, a third-round pick from the 2022 NFL draft. With no immediate addition to the 53-man roster, the Browns now have an open spot as they prepare for the season opener. Over his career with the Browns, Bell played in 31 regular-season games, recording 38 catches for 381 yards and three touchdowns. He also had eight receptions for 54 yards in last season's playoff loss to the Texans. The remaining wide receivers on the active roster are Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore, Jamari Thrash, and Cedric Tillman. This move may signal confidence in the development of Tillman and Thrash, who are expected to take on more prominent roles in 2024. Ultimately, Bell's tenure with the Browns did not meet the team's expectations when they selected him in the third round two years ago.

David Bell Back At Practice
7 months agoCleveland Browns wide receiver David Bell (quad) returned to practice in limited fashion on Wednesday. The third-year wideout has been on the shelf since Aug. 10, when he sustained a quadriceps injury against the Green Bay Packers. Left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. also returned to practice. It remains to be seen whether or not Bell will be ready to suit up for the team's home opener against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday. The Purdue product is listed as a second-string WR on Cleveland's depth chart heading into Week 1 and has totaled just 38 receptions for 381 yards and three touchdowns on 58 targets across his first two seasons. He faces increased competition for those targets in 2024 due to the Browns' acquisition of Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku's strong performance in the latter part of last season. Bell is currently nothing more than a best ball dart throw in his current situation.

David Bell To Miss A Week Or Two
8 months agoCleveland Browns wide receiver David Bell (quadriceps) "took a pretty good shot" in the preseason opener on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers and will miss a week or two, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. It's a bummer for Bell, who was having an outstanding training camp up until this point. Before getting hurt on Saturday, the 23-year-old caught his only target for a five-yard gain. Even with Bell's strong camp to this point, it was going to be hard for him to get any higher than fourth on the team's receiver depth chart with Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore ahead of him, and his quad injury pretty much assures he'll go undrafted in most redraft fantasy leagues now. Bell's absence over the next week or two will open up reps for Cedric Tillman and Jaelon Darden, among others.
