David Bednar Continues Dominant Spring Friday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher David Bednar continued what has been a dominant Spring Training performance on Friday, striking out two in a perfect inning of relief against the Orioles. Bednar has yet to allow a run in seven appearances this spring, as he has allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out 13 in seven innings of work. Acquired in the trade that sent Joe Musgrove to San Diego, Bednar appears to be a near-lock to make the Pirates Opening Day bullpen with this continued success. He's looking like a solid target in SV/HLD leagues, and if Richard Rodriguez goes down with injury or is traded this year, Bednar could be one of the first options the Pirates look at to fill the closer's role.
