Boston Bruins forward David Backes (concussion) was forced from Game 5 after taking a crushing hit from Tampa Bay Lightning winger J.T. Miller. Now it has come out that Backes is still feeling the effects of that hit. This may prove to be a cause for concern, as Backes has a history of concussions, including one during his first season with the Bruins suffered at the hands of then Buffalo Sabres forward Will Carrier. Backes has five months to recover before the start of next season, but it remains to be seen if that will be enough time. Players tend to take longer to recover from each successive concussion.--Kevin Acorn
