Davante Adams Underwhelming Against Former Team
1 year agoLas Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had four receptions for 45 yards on four targets in the Week 5 win against the Green Bay Packers. Adams put up another pedestrian stat line in this matchup against his former team. Adams had one reception on one target for 12 yards when the Raiders hit halftime. The veteran receiver was occasionally matched up against Jaire Alexander, which may have affected his production, but Garoppolo seemed to prefer Jakobi Meyers in this contest. Adams' four targets were his lowest in a full game since 2019. Another factor to consider when assessing this performance would be Adams' shoulder injury. Coming into this matchup, Adams missed two days of practice and was listed as questionable until Monday. It is unclear how much the injury affected the stat line, but it was certainly a factor. Adams will have another week to recover before facing the New England Patriots in Week 6. The Patriots have been middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed to wide receivers, so Adams should have no issues in the matchup. Fantasy managers have been disappointed with the production the past two weeks, but Adams is still one of the best wide receivers in football and deserves to be started as a WR1 every week.
