Darwinzon Hernandez Could Move Into Rotation
4 years agoBoston Red Sox reliever Darwinzon Hernandez (COVID-19) is expected to be activated sometime next week after testing positive for the virus in July. He'll initially join the club in a long-relief role, but the inkling is that he'll shift into the starting rotation after he's built up enough arm strength. The lefty will throw three innings in his next outing at Pawtucket and will be a welcomed addition to the Red Sox, who have struggled mightily with pitching this season. Hernandez struck out 57 batters in 30 1/3 innings as a reliever in 2019, but it came at the expense of a 4.45 ERA. Fantasy managers may want to wait until he makes a start or two before deciding to pick him up.
