Darren Sproles To Retire After Season
5 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles (hip) will retire at the end of the season, ending his 15-year career. Sproles is currently out for the season with a torn right hip flexor. "I gave it everything I had on every play," Sproles said. The 36-year-old pint-sized back ran for 66 yards on just 17 carries in 2019, his sixth season with the Eagles. The three-time Pro Bowler spent three years with the Saints and six to begin his career with the Chargers. He was a fourth-round pick back in 2005, and he's No. 5 on the all-time list for all-purpose yards (19,696). In his prime, Sproles was one of the most versatile and explosive backs in open space.
