Darren O'Day Works Out Of Jam Friday
Darren O'Day had an excellent outing against the Braves on Friday. O'Day entered the game with one out in the bottom of the ninth and the winning run on third base after Zach Britton's fiasco of a performance. He was able to strand the runner and escape the inning and proceeded to pitch a clean 10th inning. O'Day's final stat line was 1 2/3 innings pitched with no runs, two hits, a walk and two strikeouts. He has been great out of the Orioles bullpen this season, posting a 2.70 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP in 20 innings. While he may not provide many holds given the quality of the team he plays for, O'Day is worth a look in category leagues for his ERA and strikeout numbers.

Darren O'Day's Rehab Moved To Triple-A
Darren O'Day's (calf) minor league rehab assignment from High-A Rome to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. O'Day struck out a batter in a scoreless inning of work for Rome last Friday. The 39-year-old right-hander might only need a few more rehab outings before he's activated from the 15-day injured list. O'Day landed on the injured list on July 13 with a left calf strain. Before the injury, he was sporting a 4.15 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP and a 26:10 K:BB in 21 2/3 relief innings for the Braves. The veteran side-armer isn't of any real value to fantasy managers.

Darren O'Day Signs Minor League Deal With Braves
Darren O'Day to a minor league deal on Monday. The 39-year-old side-armer signed a one-year deal with the New York Yankees last winter but pitched in only 10 2/3 innings due to a rotator cuff strain and a season-ending hamstring injury that required surgery. If he's in the majors with the Braves next season, he'll make $1 million. In his 14 big-league seasons, O'Day has a nice 2.53 ERA in 587 1/3 innings pitched. He previously pitched with Atlanta from 2019-20 but pitched only 21 2/3 innings due to injuries, and he hasn't gone over 20 innings pitched in a season since 2017. If O'Day cracks the Opening Day roster, he'll be a relief option against right-handed bats.
