Darren O'Day To Have Season-Ending Surgery Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Darren O'Day (hamstring) will have season-ending surgery to repair a left hamstring injury. O'Day signed a $2.5 million deal in the offseason with the Yankees but has been limited to just 12 games this season due to a shoulder injury and the hamstring ailment. The 38-year-old reliever is reportedly contemplating his future beyond 2021, but he will have to make his decision right before the World Series due to the player option on his contract. O'Day has had a solid career, pitching to a 2.53 ERA 587 1/3 innings, though his fantasy upside has been limited, given that he has just 21 career saves and hasn't amassed double-digit holds since 2017.
