Darlington May Be Rare Opportunity For Harrison Burton To Perform
2 years agoHarrison Burton's abysmal season trudged along last weekend at Kansas Speedway, as the struggling Wood Brothers Racing driver came home with a 30th-place finish--his sixth result of 29th or worse in the first twelve races this season. Now the NASCAR Cup Series is on to Darlington Raceway, but there could be room for optimism in the #21 camp this weekend. In addition to surprisingly high finishes of 14th and 21st in the two Darlington races last season, Burton went out and qualified 14th for this weekend's Goodyear 400 race. Will he be able to keep that track position, though? The #21 Ford was 26th-fastest in practice on Saturday morning with a time of 29.974 seconds--over seven-tenths of a second off of leader Chase Elliott's 29.231 time.
