Darius Slay Set To Join The Steelers
5 mins agoFree-agent cornerback Darius Slay is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Slay, a 34-year-old veteran, was a salary-cap casualty this offseason with the Philadelphia Eagles but won't be on the open market for long. The six-time Pro Bowler is now headed to the AFC North after spending the first 12 seasons of his NFL career in the NFC with the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. While he's no longer in the prime of his career, Slay can still produce after totaling 106 tackles (87 solo), two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 27 pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 26 regular-season starts in Philadelphia over the last two years. Slay will certainly be an improvement for Pittsburgh's secondary once he's officially released by the Eagles as a post-June 1 cut.
