3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants placed first baseman/outfielder Darin Ruf (oblique) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday. He is dealing with a right oblique strain. The move is retroactive to September 20. The Giants activated outfielder Alex Dickerson (hamstring) from the injured list in a corresponding move. Dickerson will likely platoon with LaMonte Wade Jr. in the outfield going forward. Ruf has only been seeing a few starts per week lately. He's slashed .239/.340/.391 so far in September. Wilmer Flores will be the backup first baseman behind Brandon Belt with Ruf sidelined.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
